Healthy Lifestyle Choices Are A Great Way To Reduce Healthcare Costs

In the United States, we are said to have a poor healthcare system because of our lower life expectancies (compared to other nations in Europe or Asia). But in reality, when you look at our healthcare, it is second to none… in REACTIONARY medicine. Nations with preventative style healthcare systems have overall longer life expectancies because of healthier lifestyle choices. As a result, costs for them are reduced because they do not encounter the same level of problems as we do here in the U.S.
Healthy lifestyle choices can include a variety of things, such as healthier food options and more active lifestyles. Programs and projects, large and small, exist all over the country and within South Dakota. The key is to get us all to think about the choices we make regarding the health of our bodies and minds. And to teach behaviors early on in life will impact the health and wellness of future generations.
