South Dakota Education…

South Dakota students are quite valuable in that they overachieve relative to the investment the state makes in education. This, I have no doubt, is due to the work ethic of both our students and teachers. They have been performing despite poor investments. The quality of education our children receive is a direct result of the caliber of instruction…that means our teachers, their relationship with their students, and community involvement in their school. Wait a minute…that sounds a lot like the small schools to me!

I cannot stress this enough, education is vital, especially in the knowledge economy. Schools are the driving force of small towns, and we must ensure their survival. My hat is off to those students and teachers who perform everyday, and work to make South Dakota a better place for all of us. Thank you very much!
