Economic Development is Important for South Dakota…

George Kottie has hit the nail on the head. I recently read his article in the April 22 edition of the Hot Springs Star, regarding economic development.

I would like to emphasize how very important it is for a community to come together and make a decision about what they want to be when they ‘grow up.’ Establishing strategic intent (where you want to go) and strategic direction (how you will get there) is paramount. Hot Springs has a great opportunity to pull together ideas by analyzing your strengths and hopefully by factoring in creativity they will come up with a plan. Good luck to the Chamber and the community leadership!

Take a moment to analyze the economics of your own town. What drives your local economies?
