STEP Into the Future…

Currently, the United States is in a competition for knowledge. This kind of competition is world-wide, and the outcome is very important to our economic future.

Programs to increase learning in science, technology, and engineering are very important to our economic futures. Countries like India and China are increasing their output of engineers, etc. and we must do our part to keep up.

I have said it before, and I will say it again, the education of our youth needs a transformation to make it interesting and more applicable to today’s youth. The education children receive needs to be engaging and interesting.

This is especially important to South Dakota now because we are moving into a scientific age with the Deep Underground Science and Engineering Laboratory in Lead. We have the tools…will we take the initiative?
