South Dakota Should Embrace Transformation and Become A Leader...

It is happening and we can do nothing to stop it. The world is moving from an age characterized by industry and manufacturing to an age characterized by technology and innovation.
But... we do not have to stand idly by and watch the world pass. South Dakota is on the brink of transformation, along with the rest of the world. It should be within our vision to attract innovation technology to our state. We already have a great start with the Deep Underground Science and Engineering Laboratory in Lead, SD. Another fact most people do not realize is our ranking as number one in universities/colleges per capita.
The world is engulfed in an energy challenge never seen before, and food prices are skyrocketing along with fuel. The Midwest, and South Dakota in particular, is poised to become a leader and should invest in the wind energy potential and the bio-fuels, capable of being grown with corn and other forms of biomass such as switchgrass, woodchips, garbage, etc.
The possibilities are endless and I love to think about the valuable opportunities awaiting our great state…
